A bit more about me
My connection to filmmaking began long before it became a profession. Coming from a family involved in film for two generations, I was introduced to the language of cinema at an early age. That early exposure developed into a deep passion for visual storytelling and eventually led me to pursue formal studies in cinematography at UNATC Bucharest, where I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
Over the years, I have developed a versatile approach to camera work, combining strong technical knowledge with a focus on storytelling. I am experienced with a broad range of operating techniques, from handheld and gimbal work to cranes, dollies, remote heads, and complex camera movement systems. My background also includes shooting on 35mm motion picture film, providing a solid understanding of the foundations of cinematography beyond the digital environment.
I am passionate about creating images that feel intentional, emotionally engaging, and visually distinctive. Whether working on a commercial, feature film, documentary, or branded project, my goal remains the same: to support the vision of the project through carefully crafted cinematography.
Work Experience
October 2023 - Present
September 2020 - July 2025
June 2017 - September 2023
Working professionally as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator since 2023, I have developed experience across both narrative and commercial productions. My journey into larger-scale productions began with Netflix's Subteran as Camera Operator and has since expanded to a couple of feature films as Director of Photography, four feature films as Camera Operator, and numerous commercial campaigns for local and international clients.
My formal training in cinematography was completed at UNATC Bucharest, where I earned a Bachelor's degree (2020–2023) followed by a Master's degree (2023–2025). Alongside digital workflows, my education included shooting on 35mm film, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of exposure, lighting, composition, and the discipline behind the photographic image.
My path to cinematography was built through years of experience inside professional camera departments. As a Camera Assistant and Video Assistant on large international productions, including HBO and major international projects, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's most experienced filmmakers while working in demanding, high-pressure environments.
